Conservatory Overview:

The Music & Theatre Conservatory offers comprehensive training in acting, technique, and voice to talented students with aspirations of careers on stage, in film and television, and in the recording arts.  Students are exposed to all aspects of the craft while learning the fundamentals of theatre history and technique.  They are also given many performance opportunities on campus and throughout the local community.  Students also have the opportunity to study with world-renowned guest artists.

The Music & Theater Conservatory is open to 7th-12th graders.

Classes Offered:

MT students participate in a variety of classes over the course of their education at OCSA.  They are given instruction in the fundamentals of acting and voice technique as well as Improvisation, Stage Combat, Movement for the Stage, Shakespeare, Acting for the Camera, Directing, Pop Vocal and many more.



Conservatory Overview:

The Integrated Arts faculty teaches a wide range of subjects from all of the arts disciplines going beyond the single conservatory approach.  This program is designed to give students an opportunity to explore and actively participate in a variety of performing and visual arts classes in a stimulating and creative environment.  Each student is exposed to a broad array of arts, including visual arts, voice, music appreciation, drama, creative writing, and production and design.

Classes Offered:

The great thing about Integrated Arts is that you are literally in a “mini OCSA”.  As mentioned before, classes from all genres of art are offered to IA students.  Some students’ favorite courses are Graphic Design, Guitar, Tap, Broadcast Journalism, Creative Writing, Acting for the Camera and Stage Combat.



Conservatory Overview:

The Classical Voice Conservatory is designed as a college preparatory program focused on vocal arts.  The program is ideal for young singers interested in learning about the fundamentals of classical singing and those who may someday chose to pursue a career in singing or music teaching.

Modeled after well-established national collegiate vocal-arts programs, the classical voice conservatory curriculum is balanced between performance-focused classes and academic music courses.  Students in this conservatory are immersed in the fundamental elements of music, such as theory, musicianship, history, diction, and piano classes as well as classes focused on solo and ensemble singing such as art song literature, music of the theatre, opera scenes, choral ensembles, and class voice.  

Students also benefit from the knowledge, experience, and high level of education of our faculty. The classical voice conservatory's faculty consists of music professionals who have a minimum of a master's degree in music and/or ten plus years in the professional music industry.  Faculty experience varies from choral and chamber music to opera and musical theatre.

The Classical Voice Conservatory is open to 7th-12th graders.

Classes Offered:

Musicianship, Theory, Concert Choir, Operetta, Music History, Stage Movement, Italian Diction, German Diction, Piano, and Art Song Literature.



Conservatory Overview:

The Classical and Contemporary Dance Conservatory offers intensive training in ballet, modern, pointe/men’s class, variations, composition and choreography.  The highly qualified staff, with extensive professional experience in the dance world, gives the students the technical skills, discipline, commitment and edge necessary for a professional career in dance or dance-related fields. 

By spending 12-15 hours per week in technique classes, and more than eight hours per week in rehearsal, students develop an appreciation of different dance genres, styles and history.  Through the Artists in Residence program, students have the opportunity to participate in master classes with local and world-renowned choreographers who create original works for the students to perform throughout the year.

Conservatory Overview:

Addressing the needs of gifted young dancers who aspire to perform on stage, screen, television, or music video, the Commercial Dance Conservatory is the only program of its kind in the country.  Students receive technical instruction in a variety of dance forms and styles from a core faculty of professionals.  Esteemed guest artists and professional choreographers expose students to current and innovative dance forms in the commercial dance industry.

The CMD Conservatory is open to 7th-12th graders.

Dance History,
Professional Improvement,
and Thera-barre Ballet.



Conservatory Overview:

In the International Dance Conservatory aspiring young dancers experience dance repertoire from around the world.

The enriched Ballet Folklorico Program will feature a diverse offering of international dance forms, including and other Latin-inspired dance forms such as Flamenco, Salsa, Samba, and Tango.

A Ballroom Dance Program includes Latin ballroom (Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble) and standard ballroom (Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz).  Additional International dance styles may be added in the future as the program expands.

The International Dance Conservatory is open to 7th-12th graders.

Folklorico Repertory,
Folklorico Technique,
History of Dance,
Latin Dance, and
Theatre Crafts.
