When it comes to the way people are searching for information, check out these stats:

20% of mobile queries on Google are voice searches.
25% of all Bing searches are voice searches.

Lucky for you, my good friend Chanette Clinton of Systems That Convert is a master at this magic and she recently joined me on Camera Confidence Live and shared 5 Keys to Voice Search Optimization.

Site Content

It is so important to have relevant content on your site that you  know people are looking for. The content should match your brand and you should know exactly what your ideal clients are looking for. What problems do they have? What are they trying to solve?

Key Phrases

You are not your customer. There are at least 350 languages spoken in U.S. households. For example, think about all the ways people say “yes”. There are so many ways to say one word. There are different ways to say phrases. Use a thesaurus or another tool to find the key phrases that are used both often by your ideal client. For example, we love to use Google Keyword.

Clear and Direct Answers

People look more for answers then questions. The best way to make sure that you have clear and direct answers is to have a Frequently Asked Question or an FAQs page on your site. The trick is figuring out what questions your ideal clients are going to be asking. Consider spreading the FAQs around your site in different areas. Further, try to think of the questions surrounding the different sections of your business and be sure to post those answers.

Mobile Friendly

Be sure that  your site is mobile friendly so that people can find it on their phones. If someone is looking for your site on their phone, you want to make sure that your images, text, etc. can be viewed fully from a mobile device as well.

Local Search Optimized

Make sure that you are set up for local search optimization even if you are not a brick and mortar business or do not have a physical location. Many people do not want to work with someone that is not local, even if there is no actual store that they have to go to. There are a lot of tools that can be used to show where businesses are located. You want to be on these lists so that you are searchable when someone is looking for a service in a certain area.
